WA..Spring or Summer...Make Up Your MInd

Weather in the great old NW can be frustrating this time of year. Rain, sun, clouds, hot, cold rinse and repeat. This past weekend I headed over the Leavenworth, WA for the fourth stop in the Indie Series mountain bike races. I knew it was going to be hot and the weather report said it was going to be in the mid 90s, but you forget what the 90s are over the long Seattle winter. Heck 70s seem hot at first.

The Open/Expert race started at noon under a blazing sun. To make a short story out of a short race the heat was too much for me. On the second lap I came apart. Couldn't pedal, turn or balance. My head was beating harder than my heart. Game over, I knew I needed to pull the plug before I hurt myself. I turned around and rode back to the car only thinking about the ice cold root beer in my cooler. Mmmm

Today its raining on and off and about 55.
